Courageous Mom

Influence

in Parenting on 13/11/11

“As is the Mother, so is the Daughter.”

-Ezekiel 16:44

Wow!  Talk about responsibility right!  If we weren’t feeling the pressure before-man!

Being a Mother is such a great privilege, but also such a huge awesome responsibility!

So many days I feel the weight of it, and feel like I don’t measure up.  Am I doing all I should with my kids?  Am I preparing my children for the purposes God’s made them for?  Am I a good role model for my girls of being a woman of God, a wife, a mother, etc???

In this short scripture the reality of our responsibility becomes realized.  It’s not the words we speak to our daughters so much as it is what we do, how we act, our character, our priorities and how we live them out.  Yes our words matter, but it’s not the end all.

When I am overwhelmed by the heaviness of this great responsibility- I rest on this…

God himself has laid out the days of my daughter…

“For I Know the plans I have for you,”declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Nothing I can do good or bad can ruin God’s plans and His Will.

Does this mean as a parent I just sit back and do nothing???

No God has ordained my days as well… part of that is that He has called me to be purposeful in my relationships with my children.

Rest easy with the confidence that God Choose You to be your daughters Mom or your sons Mom!

Blessings,

Angie
