Dearest Moms,
I appeal to you, on behalf of your children, and your children’s children, will you pray for our nation?
Will you pray for the leaders, for tomorrow’s leaders, regardless of who they are or what the believe?
Will you pray for all our children, the next generation, that God would raise up courageous leaders who love Him and seek righteousness?
I know many of you are disgusted by how this election has turned out, how the American people are responding, how the country is divided and growing in hostility toward one another. And I know many of you are even more concerned for how divided the Body of Christ has become.
You have good reason to be discouraged.
Now what are you going to do about it?
You have most likely already voted, but now is the time that we need to really get to work. Now is the time to kneel humbly before the Lord. Now is the time to intercede.
Our nation needs people who are willing to fall on their knees and take the time out of their schedule to pray. Will you join me? I am spending the day fasting and praying for our nation, for the leaders, and for the Body of Christ.
We need to pray for the legacy of this nation. This election could determine how much immorality is legalized in the future. It may either defend those that cannot defend themselves or oppose them: the elderly widows, orphans, and unborn babies. Parental rights will either become threatened or protected, which means you, your children, and their children may not legally have the right to homeschool or oppose being vaccinated in the future (for example).
Basic beliefs that once united the Church are now points of massive division in America.
And Christians who just want to obey the Bible are persecuted and condemned by other Christians.
Yes, moms, we have much to pray for.
Father,
When we consider all the gifts You have given us all, we are thankful, humbled, and grieved by what we see happening in the world today. As Americans, we have experienced the best comforts this world has to offer. The comfort that comes from prosperity, opportunity, and freedom. We acknowledge that we are undeserving of all the blessings You have given us in this life. Let us not forget the greatest gift you gave all mankind when You sent Your Son Jesus to die for all our sins– both past, present, and future.
Oh Lord, my God, please have mercy on our nation. May Your Kingdom Come and Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven. We pray for your righteous right hand to bring justice to our land. Might our leaders be humbled and repent before You!
Protect our children from being deceived. Give them discernment and wisdom. It is by Your Spirit alone that we can discern between evil and good, so we invite you to dwell among us, be forever present with us, and may our children sense your presence Lord. Might our children rise up and praise the name of the Lord!
We desire for you to send Jesus back to us! I am sure you are grieved by what You are witnessing in our nation right now, I know I am. Our nation is divided and many are harsh with their words, prideful, unkind, self-righteous, judging the salvation of one another, and others are weak, fickle in their convictions, lead astray by ways of the world and lacking discernment, and speaking hastily.
There is none like You, Lord of my salvation. Come Holy Spirit, come reside in our souls and help us to speak as an ambassador for You, to stand for righteousness, but have love on our tongues. We pray you would help us to respond to others in a way that brings You glory. Help us to have love in our hearts for those who rise up against us.
Lord Jesus, You warned us that things would get worse in the end of days and that it is all a part of Your plan. We pray for those who cannot speak for themselves, Lord, we beg you to protect them! Open the eyes of others to see the precious beauty that you have created in humanity and to have inherent value for it. Life is precious. Help us to live our lives as a testimony to the truth that You alone are the creator of life and that all people are made in Your image. We pray that Your people would be lead to their knees in humble submission and prayer. Lord, hear our cry!
Help us to keep our eyes on You Jesus and not forget who we really are in You and who we follow. Let us not become discouraged by the lies some are saying “ You can’t possibly be a Christian if you vote for him/her?” Are we not saved by Your Son Jesus, whom was crucified for us? Help us not to forget that who we are in You cannot be taken away from us by one vote. You are more powerful than that and we thank you that You have the power to save the most wretched of souls.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Thank you for standing with me.
