Have you ever struggled to feel confident in your choices or decisions as a parent?
Do you ever feel weary from or overwhelmed by this sanctifying journey of motherhood?
Have you ever wished you had an older sister or maybe a dear friend just a season ahead of you that has gone down that road, made mistakes, learned from them, and was willing to share those insights with you, so you could avoid the same mistakes?
Maybe you are a new believer and mothering biblically is a term that just seems too difficult and you don’t know where to start?
And maybe, just maybe you simply need encouragement to stay the course, do what you know in your mind God’s word asks of you, but you feel alone in this journey and saying yes to God is just too hard.
These are just a few reasons why I am launching this new site, Courageous Mom.
It’s for you and I’m dedicating it to God.
Here is a welcome video from me to you! I am so glad you are here and can’t wait to begin this new journey of seeking God together, encouraging one another in our roles and relationships as a mom and wife, and to truly spur one another on to good works as iron sharpens iron, all for HIS GLORY!!!
Living for Jesus isn’t popular today.
It’s counter-cultural and often times, we can experience persecution as we intentionally serve to leave a kingdom focused legacy in all we do… especially parenting.
We are mocked, undervalued, unappreciated, and often times rejected by the world when we choose to lay down our lives to serve those we love the most. It isn’t always pretty.
We don’t get employee of the month plaques, we don’t get speeches made in honor of us, we don’t get special company cars, or even company trips for all those nights we are up taking care of sick kids, or even for simply living faithfully every day, as we mother.
God is calling each of us to live courageously for the gospel in every area of our lives, recognizing that we have been given authority and are qualified because of who we are in Christ.
As I dedicate this site to you, for the purpose of encouraging each of us, myself included, in walking boldly in our generation and shining brightly the full message of the gospel, please be praying for me and my family.
I didn’t choose to be the courageous mom. In fact, courageous isn’t a word I would use to describe myself when I am walking in my flesh.
The truth is, I always thought of myself as pretty ordinary because my days seemed ordinary. In fact, when I was younger I used to call myself average Angie.
I’ve never seen myself as brave or courageous, but God has been reminding me and teaching me that simple obedience and faithfulness takes courage.
It takes courage to follow God’s word.
It takes courage to work hard with joy and serve, not allow the success of others to distract me from God’s calling on my life right now.
And even though the world may scorn the lifestyle choices we make or our convictions and beliefs, God is glorified as we make Him known to the world by the way we love and live.
I know that God has a special message for you in this too and I can’t wait to hear what He is teaching you.
To God be the glory.
